Winifred Clark

OSAGE, IOWA — Mrs. Donald G. (Winifred) Clark, 86, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Osage, with the Rev. Arthur L. Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church Friday. Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of the arrangements.

Winifred was born September 30, 1912, in Riceville, the daughter of Willard and Bertha (Smalling) Tyrrell. She attended Riceville schools and graduated from Riceville High School in 1929. She took two years of business classes in Osage and completed her bachelor's degree at Upper Iowa University.

Winifred was a teacher in different rural schools in Mitchell County and later taught in Mitchell and Osage.

She was united in marriage to Donald G. Clark on May 5, 1934, at Ames.

Winifred was a member of D.A.R., 50-year member of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of A.D.K. Sorority and the First United Methodist Church, Osage.

She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Clark, Osage; two daughters, Marijane Bowman, Rock Island, Ill., and Shari Moulder and her husband, Robert, Eden Prairie, Minn.; one sister, Harriet Oster, Torrance, Calif.; a brother, Scott Tyrrell and his wife, Olive, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Violet Tyrrell, Spencer; and four grandchildren, Charles Moulder, Jack Moulder, Tara Moulder and Meghan Moulder.

Winifred was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary; an infant brother, Wesley; an infant sister, Marjorie; a brother, Donald Tyrrell; and a sister Mrs. Merrill (Helene) Kelley.
