Madge Brandau

(Died September 28, 2010)

Madge (Baker) Brandau, age 93, of Osage, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2010, at the Eden Presbyterian Church, 3105 Glass Ave., Rudd, with Rev. John Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday before services at the Eden Presbyterian Church.

Madge was born September 7, 1917, in Clear Lake, to Ray and Maytie (Cobb) Baker. She graduated from Clear Lake High School and Hamilton Business College in Mason City. Madge worked for the Cerro Gordo County ASCS. She was united in marriage to Reuben Brandau on December 2, 1945. They made their home on the family farm near Rudd. Madge was a member of the Eden Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing “500” and was a great cook. She also enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, and crocheting

Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Richard) Grekoff, Hudson, Wisconsin; a son, Bill (Barb) Brandau, Floyd; five grandchildren, Randy (Nan) Grekoff, Hudson, Wisconsin, Lisa (Jim) Dardine, Hudson, Wisconsin, Laura (Bob) Quade, Hudson, Wisconsin, Mike (Amy) Brandau, Ames, Kelly (Jeff) Ealy, Omaha, Nebraska; ten great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Elaine Baker, Clear Lake, Lucille (Neil) Bisbee, Stacyville, Eunice (Homer) Stockdale, Aplington, Elinor Sinning, Rudd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reuben in 1996; a brother, Frank Baker; a sister-in-law, Alice Ohden and her husband John; and a brother-in-law, Norval Sinning.
