Margaret (May) Brost - 1875 - 1965

Rozellville, Wisconsin -- Mrs. Margaret Brost, 90, Rozellville, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Leahy Nursing Home in Abbotsford, Wisconsin, where she had been a patient for nine months.

Funeral services will be held at 10a.m.Wednesday at St. Andrew's catholic Church in Rozellville, Wisconsin. The Rev. Rudolph Raschke, Stratford will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

The body will repose at the Sauter Funeral Home in Stratford from 7 o'clock this evening (Monday) until time of services. A parish rosary service will be conducted there at 8pm Tuesday, followed by St. Anne's Society rosary service at 8:30 pm.

The former Margaret May was born February 18, 1875 in Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Peter May and Katherine (Gerhartz) May. Her marriage to Lambert Brost, who preceded her in death April 25, 1936, took place on October 14, 1894 at Stacyville.

The couple left Stacyville in 1911 and went to North Washington, Iowa, where they resided until 1919. That year, they came to farm in the town of Day, where she resided until 1940. Since that time, she had made her home with her children.

Mrs. Brost was a charter member of St. Anne's Society of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and had served as treasurer of that group for 16 years.

Survivors include three sons, Ernest, Leo and Lawrence, Marshfield. Seven daughters:, Mrs. Mike Nosbisch, Colby: Mrs. Al Griesbach and Mrs. Joseph Folz, Rozellville: Mrs. Ralph Brus, Alta Vista, Iowa: Mrs. William Schmidt, Brooklyn, New York; Mrs. Henry Linzmeier, Auburndale; and Mrs. Gust Bleichrot, Muskego; a sister, Mrs. Christine (Henry) Brumm, Meyer, Iowa; 52 grandchildren and 81 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and an adopted brother.

Pallbearers were Lavern Nosbisch, Derald, Vernon and Norman Brost, Virgil Folz and Wallace Linzmeier.
