PAUL MEIRICK

NEW HAVEN, IOWA - Services for Paul Meirick, 65, who died Tuesday morning of an apparent
heart attack, at a motel in Knoxville, Tenn., where he was staying while en route to
Florida, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven; rosary
at 8 p.m. Thursday and at 8 p.m. Friday at Champion Funeral Home; burial in church
cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Gertrude; three sons, William of Protivin, Richard of Elma, and S. Sgt. Dan Meirick with the U.S. Air Force in Plattsberg, N.Y.; a daughter Mrs. Pat O'Brien of Bernard: four sisters, Mrs. Clarence Kuhn, Mrs. Art Baker and Sister Mary Jovita. all of Waterloo, and Mrs. Robert McArthur of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Carl of Duluth, Minn, and Walter of Mt. Vernon, Mo. and 16 grandchildren.

Paul Meirick was born July 14, 1907 near New Haven, Iowa, the son of Joe and Helen (Rademacher) Meirick.

Paul Meirick and Gertrude Marr were married at St. Peter's Church in New Haven on September 30, 1933. They lived in New Haven for two years where Paul had a trucking business. When Paul's parents moved to Elma in 1935, Paul and his family moved to the Meirick homestead in East Lincoln Township. Paul and Gertrude are the parents of four children, Ann, Bill, Dick, and Dan.
