Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township, rural Osage, with the Rev. Robin Ramos officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.

Irene Anna Dorothea Wilde was born Aug. 6, 1922, the daughter of Emil and Lydia Eske. She was baptized on September 10, 1922, at St. John's Lutheran Church and was later confirmed there on March 21, 1937. She attended rural school in Newburg Township, southwest of St. Ansgar.

She married Irvin Wilde on February 15, 1942, at St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member. Her faith and family were very important to her. Irvin and Irene farmed side by side for 55 years where they grew corn, oats, hay and soybeans, milked cows and raised livestock.

Irene was either driving tractor, doing chores, cooking or baking. She especially enjoyed baking goodies using the eggs that she gathered and milk, cream and butter from the cows she helped tend.

As her health declined in early 2010, she became a resident of the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Society where she was cared for by many supportive and caring staff members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin in 2006; an infant daughter; mother, Lydia Sawyer; father, Emil Eske; and stepfather, Gale Sawyer; brothers Ruben and Kenneth; brother-in-law, Arnold (Ruth), Roy, Ferdinand, and Elmer Wilde; and sisters-in-law, Alice (Earl) Kuntz, Wilma (Roland) Hackbart and Vianora (Allen) Feldt.

Irene is survived by daughters, Jan Rysavy, of St. Ansgar and Karen Kittleson and her husband, Lowell, of Osage; grandsons, Pete Rysavy, and his wife, Heather, and their son, Logan, of St. Ansgar; Nic Rysavy and his wife, Heidi, and sons, Eric and Austin, of St. Ansgar; Ryan Kittleson and Amy Montgomery and children, Jake and Nate Felper, and Gianna and Bryleigh Kittleson of Osage; granddaughter, Lauryn Muller and her husband, Zach, and children, Cayl and Syenna, of Osage; sisters-in-law, Margaret Eske of Buffalo, Mo., Rose Wilde of Osage, Loreen Seeley of Osage, and many nieces and nephews.
