Leonard 'Bud' Mostek

MITCHELL — Leonard "Bud" Mostek, 71, of Mitchell died Friday (Oct. 2, 1998) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ansgar Catholic Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, with a 7:30 p.m. rosary. The casket will be closed.

Leonard "Bud" Mostek was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Luxemburg, Wisconsin.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mostek, of Mitchell; his mother, Helen Mostek Winterton, of Fulton, Illinois; one daughter, Wendy Schulz, of south Barrington, Illinois; three sons, Jonathon Mostek, of Sycamore, Illinois; Joel Mostek, of Clinton; and Jason Mostek, of Bartlett, Illinois; one sister, Sandra Goodale, of Fulton, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, and one sister.

Leonard 'Bud' Mostek

MITCHELL — Leonard "Bud" Mostek, 71, of Mitchell died Friday (Oct. 2, 1998) at his home.

Leonard "Bud" Mostek was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Luxemburg, Wis., the son of Matt and Helen (Cerin) Mostek. When he was 11 days old, his family moved to Mitchell.

He was educated in the Mitchell schools. He was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage.

He married Dorothy Thompson on Feb. 2, 1952 in St. Ansgar.

He was employed as a construction worker. He graduated from the Western Iowa technical school in Sioux City, Iowa in 1967.

In 1969, the family moved to Clinton, where he was employed by the Union Carbide Company retiring in 1983. They moved to Mitchell, Iowa in 1990. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mostek, of Mitchell; his mother, Helen Mostek Winterton, of Fulton, Ill.; one daughter, Wendy Schulz and her husband, Siegfried, of South Barrington, Ill.; three sons, Jonathon Mostek, of Sycamore, Ill.; Joel and his wife, Susan Mostek, of Clinton; and Jason and his wife, Lani Mostek, of Bartlett, Ill.; one sister, Sandra Goodale and her husband, Morris, of Fulton, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Matt Mostek; and a sister, Leona Mostek Larson.
