Death of Albert Bush.

For seventeen years Albert Bush has been a resident of Osage. He was a vigorous, healthy man, full of hard work in all kinds of weather, until a year ago last winter, when he was attacked by la grippe. Since that time he has not been a well man though he worked most of the time until last spring. Since then he has been failing rapidly, though able to walk about the street. Last Friday he was down town and told A. R. McLaughlin that he wanted to get some ammunition to go hunting up about Ashland, Wisconsin. But on Saturday he became suddenly worse while walking in the yard and fell to the ground unconscious. He recovered somewhat and was able to walk into the house by the help of his wife. He lingered until Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock. lying most of the time in an unconscious condition.

Albert Bush was born at Busti, New York, October 28, and died at Osage, Iowa, October 9, 1893, being about 65 years of age. He was a brother of Prof. Bush, so well known in this part of Iowa. In 1851 he married Miss Augusta Haskell of Busti, and they came to Iowa that year to make their home, first settling in Clayton county near Strawberry Point. They lived there and in Buchanan county until 1876, when they came to this city, making their home on North Seventh street.

Mr. Bush was a deacon in the Baptist church for many years, having united with that denomination when about 12 years of age. He was a man of decided and positive character, who had the respect of all his friends and neighbors. Besides his bereaved wife he leaves two sons and two daughters. Alfred M., the eldest, lives in Buchanan county, Iowa; Orlando H. in Dakota, and Hattie, now Mrs Frank Austin, and Flora, now Mrs. C. H. Morse, in this city.

The funeral services occurred at the Baptist church yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. C. J. Pope, in the presence of a large audience.
