Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 1988 at Faith Lutheran Church, Mitchell, for Lowell Maakestad, 51, of Osage. The Reverend Elmer Ellefson will officiate and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell.
Mr. Maakestad died Monday, June 20, 1988 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, of natural causes.

He was born to Lenard and Josephine Maakestad. He was a 1955 graduate of Mitchell High School and served in the U.S. Army.
On February 6, 1960 he married Karen Kindschuh from Osage, Iowa. He worked for Wright Tree service for 21 yrs. He had one daughter, Lori, and three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He died of cancer in 1988.
