ARTHUR BISBEE
TOTERVILLE, IOWA - Services for Arthur Bisbee, 76, who died Friday morning at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, will be 1 p.m. tomorrow at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville; burial in St. Ansgar City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa; a son, Don of Arlington, VA; two daughters, Mrs. Vaught Williams of Summit, New Jersey, and Mrs. Maxine Nagle of Hopkins, Minnesota; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Bradford of Osage and Leonard of Spokane, Washington; five sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Kelley of Mills City, Montana, Mrs. Irene Reis and Mrs. Louis Johnson of Billings, Montana, Mrs. Lottie Hough of Palm Springs, California, and Mrs. Vivian Taylor of Portland, Oregon.
Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home in St. Ansgar in charge of arrangements.

The following is adapted from MITCHELL COUNTY HISTORY, 1989, (pages 226 & 227); a story authored by Donald Bisbee.
Art, as he preferred to be called, was born February 3, 1897, the sixth child of fifteen in Mower County, Minnesota to Hannah and Virgil Bisbee. He died on July 13, 1973 at the age of 76 and one half years.
In 1910, at age 13 he moved with his family to a homestead near Baker, Montana.
February 27, 1917 he married Melissa Morstad, daughter of Tosten Gilbert Morstad and Aagot (Helgeson) at Lyle, Minnesota. They farmed in Rhame, North Dakota for a time and returned to farm in Iowa in 1920. On January 22, 1923 they moved to Toeterville where they were members of the Union Presbyterian Church. Art bought the blacksmith shop and contracted to buy the two-story, two-bedroom frame house from Henry Toeter.
