MRS. FAAS OF GARNER DEAD
77 Year Old Woman’s Funeral
Services to Be Held on FridayGarner – Mrs. Susanna Faas, 77, died shortly before noon Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hans Nielsen, with whom she had resided the past two years.
Mrs. Faas had been in failing health for the past year and one-half, and in January she was stricken with pneumonia. She failed to recover her strength after her last illness.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hans (Annie) Nielsen of Garner; and Mrs. Joe ( Rosina) Thome of Stacyville; and two sons; Mike Faas of Fairville, Wisconsin; and Ben Faas of Stacyville.
Preceding her in death was a daughter Kunegunda Faas, who died in 1909.Funeral rites will be held in the Catholic Church at Stacyville Friday morning, and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery there.

#2:Susanna (Adams) Faas was born January 15, 1863 in Minnesota; the daughter of Nicholas Adams 1826-1882 and Anna (Steffens) Adams 1834-1887.
She married George Faas who was born October 8, 1857 in Washington Co., Wisconsin; the son of Benedict Faas 1823-1884; and Kunegunda (Schuster) Faas 1828-1912

#3:Susanna Adams Faas
Susanna Adams Faas was born at McHenry, Illinois, January 15, 1863. At the age of ten, she came to Iowa with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Adams, who settled at Stacyville, Iowa, in Mitchell County.
On November 16, 1886, she was united in marriage to George Faas, Sr., and to this union eight children were born. They were engaged in farming until 1914, when they moved to Stacyville, where she lived until her health failed, and in October, 1938, she went to Garner, Iowa, to make her home with her daughter Anna (Mrs. Hans Nielsen), who cared for her until she was called to her eternal reward on April 3, 1940, after a severe illness of three weeks.
She was a devoted mother, and always active in her community. She was a devout Christian, and an active member of Visitation parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, November 21, 1933, and by four children, Kunegunda, Math, Benedict and Bernard.
She is survived by four children, Mike, of Ferryville, Wisconsin,; Anna, (Mrs. Han Nielsen) of Garner, Iowa; Rosina, (Mrs. Joe Thome) of Meyer, Iowa, and Benedict, of Stacyville; three brothers and one sister, Matt, Peter and Martin Adams, and Mrs. Margaret Theobald, and several grandchildren.
