Daughter Sunday

Mrs. Engle DeClark passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bruno Vols, at Orchard Sunday night at the age of 68 years. She and her husband came to Orchard about eleven years ago to live with the Vols'.

The deceased was born in Holland November 17, 1868.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at the Sacred Heart Church in charge of the Reverend Father W. J. Baxter, and burial was made in the Osage Catholic Cemetery.

The husband and daughter survive.

Mrs. Engle DeClark

Louise Marie Bommelyn was born at Biervliet, Holland, November 17, 1868. She grew to womanhood there, and was married to Engle DeClark at Ysendyck, Holland, in April, 1892, and their only child, a daughter, was born there.

In 1899 the family came to America, settling at Hanawan, Illinois, where they lived for a year, moving then to Mineral, Illinois. In 1914 the moved to Iowa, locating in the Orchard vicinity, and have lived in that community since.

The daughter was married to Bruno Vols, and with the exception of a couple of years the two families have lived together. The daughter is mother of a son, Albert, the deceased's only grandchild.

Mrs. DeClark had been in poor health for the past six years and became bedfast six weeks ago. She passed away January 20.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at the Sacred Heart Church, with burial in the Osage Catholic Cemetery.

A group of friends and former neighbors came from Sheffield and Mineral, Illinois, for the funeral, and included Mr. Vols' brothers, Cyrile and Emil; also Mrs. Eva VanBevern, Mrs. Edmund Noteschalle (close friend to Mrs. Vols), Mr. and Mrs. Camiel Verhyluis, Pete Van Hende and Pete VanDeVelde.
