Osage Trucker, Stock Buyer Buried Tuesday

Osage – Funeral services for Guy Earl Buttolph, 49, were to be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church in Osage. The Rev. Glen Hartong was to officiate and burial to be in the Osage cemetery.

Guy Buttolph, son of Mr. A. E. and Mary Drake Buttolph, was born October 7, 1896, on a farm near Mitchell. His boyhood days were spent on this farm. He graduated from Osage high school in 1915.

On October 22, 1919, he was united in marriage to Lucille Smith, and they established their home on a farm north of Mitchell. Later they moved to Osage, and Guy engaged in selling life insurance. In 1927 he began trucking and buying stock. This venture developed into one of the largest, most successful businesses of its kind in the northern part of the state.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Buttolph, 2 daughters, Shirley Lavonne and Beverly Jean, both of Osage, and a brother, Hoyt Buttolph of Bennett.
