NORMAN TRUMAN MIELKE JR.

OSAGE, IOWA - Norman Truman Mielke Jr., 58, of Osage, died Thursday (July 15, 1999) at Lake City, Minn., as a result of a traffic accident.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. The body will be cremated following the service and inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.

Norman was born Feb. 8, 1941, at Winona, Minnesota, the son of Norman Truman Mielke Sr. and Dorthea (Mielke) Mielke. He attended St. Paul, Minn., schools and graduated from St. Paul Monroe High School in 1959.

He attended Wartburg College in Waverly and graduated in 1963. He taught school at Greene for three years and moved to Osage in 1967 and taught at Osage Middle School until his death.

He is survived by his mother, Dorthea Mielke of St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Nicole Paulson and her husband, Rick, of White Bear Township, Minn.; two sons, Eric Mielke of New Hope, Minn., and Todd Mielke of Chicago, Ill.; two grandsons, Derek Paulson and Zachary Paulson; one brother, Wayne Mielke and his wife, Terry, of Prior Lake, Minn.; and two nieces, Kimberly Mielke and Kristin Beckers.

He was preceded in death by his father.
