Peter Albert Adams 1869-1947
Stacyville----Funeral services were here Thursday for Peter Adams, who died at his home Monday after two weeks illness. Born At McHenry, Ill., August 15, 1869, he was the son of Nicholas and Anna Mary Adams. As a young man he came to the Stacyville community and engaged in the carpenter trade, which he followed all his life. He married Amanda Arends February 14, 1893. To this unin 14 children were born, five of whom preceded him. His wife died October 28, 1946.
He leaves nine children, Nicholas, Bernard, Mrs. Frank Mauer, and Robert, all of Greenville; Reinart and Mrs. Luther Seeber, Osage; Casper, Austin, Minn., Mrs. Howard Sheckler, Nora Springs, and Lawrence, Joplin, Mo.; 32 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Eight brothers and sisters preceded him.
Mr. and Mrs. Adams celebrated their golden wedding anniversary four years ago, with all the children present. He built a great many homes in the Meyer and Stacyville area.
