Henry Brainard
Found Dead, of
Heart Disease

Henry Brainard, 68, was found dead by his wife Saturday noon when she went to call him to dinner, and all indications are that he died from heart disease, aggravated by the extreme heat.

The Brainards live in David, and he was working in a field of corn that he had put in opposite his home. Neighbors saw him hoeing at 11:30, but when his wife went to the door she saw nothing of him, so went to investigate.

Coroner Shelledy and Sheriff Hungerford were called, but said at once that an inquest would be unnecessary.

Mr. Brainard farmed for a good many years in Union Township, and was known as a man of worth and substitutability. He was married a year ago to Mrs. Anna E. Scantlebury, and soon after rented his farm and moved to David.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Stacyville, and burial made at that place.
