Mrs. J. Weaverling
Brought To Osage
For Burial Tues.

The body of Mrs. James Weaverling was brought to Osage from Ames for burial and the funeral was held at the Champion Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Weaverling died Saturday evening, after rather a long siege of ill health.

Mary Emeline Oldham was born at Lebanon, Indiana, July 23, 1854. When she was 13 years old she moved to Illinois with her parents. There she met James Weaverling and they were married at Andalusia, Illinois, October 30, 1873.

To this union were born five children; Mrs. Abblie Morey, Osage; Miss Eliza Weaverling, Fort Des Moines; and Mrs. Ada Tague, Amherst, Mass., and two boys who died in infancy.

She and her husband moved to Iowa fifty-three years ago and they resided in Mitchell County for forty-five years. She joined the United Brethren Church in Andalusia, Illinois, when a girl and united with the Lincoln Baptist Church when they moved to Iowa. Later she united with the Osage Baptist Church. She was a follower of Christ for over sixty years.

Eight years ago she and her husband moved to Ames, Iowa and she passed away there Saturday evening, January 24, 1931, at the ripe age of 76 years.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, three daughters, two sisters - Mrs. Adam Weaverling, Osage, and Mrs. Ella Kreger, Floyd - and seven brothers, Ed Oldham, Moberly, MO; Absalom Oldham, Spurgeon, MO; William, Henry and Sanford, in Washington; David in Wagner, S. D.; and Silas of Charles City, Iowa. She is also survived by five grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

For fifty-seven years she was a homemaker which in itself is a noble tribute of faithfulness and stability of character.
