Funeral services for Lester Jay Coon, 81, of St. Ansgar who died Tuesday, October 23 [1990] were held Friday, October 26 at United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, with the Reverend Robert Lemmermann officiating.

Mr. Coon was born January 8, 1909 to Lester L. and Anna (Walters) Coon at Mitchell. He married Marjorie Clifton September 6, 1930 at Charles City.

They farmed for several years at Mitchell and Cresco before operating a business in Mitchell. During World War II he worked at building for the government. He worked for twenty-five years at Interstate Power Company until retiring in 1972, after which he helped at Rosel Plumbing for several years.

He is survived by; his wife, Marjorie, a daughter, Mary Ann Jennings of Carson City, Nevada; two granddaughters, three grandsons; two great grandchildren; a brother, Edwin Coon of Marquette; a sister, Mrs. D. S. (Mary) Williams of Cardiff-By-The-Sea, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Vera Robertson and Doris Madsen.

Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery at Mitchell.
