GEORGE LAMBAERE

ST. ANSGAR - The family of George Lambaere invites you to join them in celebrating George's life from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. and a rosary at 7:45 p.m.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Ansgar Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Schneider and Father Peter Bodensteiner, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

George A. Lambaere, 89, of St. Ansgar, passed away Sunday (Jan. 23, 2000) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

George was born on April 20, 1910 in Omaha, Nebraska, to John and Emerence Lambaere. He attended school in Omaha and moved to St. Ansgar to pursue a career in farming.

George married Julia Duponcheele on July 24, 1934. He was very active in his Church, county committees and Spring Valley School Board. George and Julia retired to St. Ansgar in 1985.

He spent many enjoyable hours listening to his favorite ball teams, vacationing with family in Alexandria, Minn., playing cards with his buddies at Chuck's Sportsman's Lounge, talking to his family and friends and fishing for Trout. George will always be remembered as a gentle, good friend.

George will be missed by his wife, Julia; daughters, Mary Lou Kennedy, of Osage, Kathy (Russ) McNitt, of Wyoming, Minn and Joanne (Tom) Wilder, of Mason City; and a son, George (Terri) Lambaere, of Owatonna, Minn. His grandchildren are Steve, John and David Kennedy, Jeff, Mark and Craig McNitt, John, Emily and Matt Lambaere and Chris and Matt Wilder. He has three great-grandchildren, Phillip, Christine and Taylor McNitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emerence; and a brother, Jerome; and a sister, Martha.
