Funeral services for John Haugen, 38, rural Lyle, who died December 21, 1979 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, were held December 24, 1979 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating.

John Alfred Haugen was born June 19, 1941 in Osage, the son of Alfred and Clara (Sandvig) Haugen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a lifelong member of the Mona Lutheran Church.

Mr. Haugen attended Mona grade school, and was graduated from Lyle high school.

He continued to live on the home farm where he was engaged in farming. Because of the helpfulness of his neighbors and friends he was able to continue to live on the farm which he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Mary) Sievert of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Mrs. Tom (Ann) Knudsen of Lyle, and seven nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, with Rev. Grant in charge of committal services.
