Roger G. Berg

FAIRFIELD BAY, ARKANSAS -- Roger G. Berg, 76, of Fairfield Bay died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at his home in Fairfield Bay.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church in Fairfield Bay. Arrangements are under the direction of Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs, Ark.

Roger G. Berg was born July 18, 1927 at St. Ansgar, Iowa.

He married Monica (Frazeur) Berg on May 28, 1966. He worked for NIPCO Power Company as a lineman in Le Mars, Iowa, before coming to Fairfield Bay.

Roger was a member of Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church, served as an usher and held other offices within the church. Roger was very friendly and personable. He never met a stranger and was always making new friends on the golf course, at church and the entire Fairfield Bay area. He was very active in the community, his church, top of the mountain neighborhood group and helping his neighbors and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Monica of Fairfield Bay; his sons, Randy Berg and his wife, Bonnie of Sioux City, Robin Berg and his wife, Kris of Clinton, Utah, who is serving in the military and Shane Berg and his wife, Edna of Syracuse, Utah; his daughters, Renae Braughton and her husband, Phil of Omaha, Neb. and Debbie Liby and her husband, Brian of Bonaire, Ga.; a brother, Raymond Berg of Fairfield Bay; 10 grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Max Dale Berg, who was killed in action during World War II.

Memorials may be directed to Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church, 765 Dave Creek Parkway, Fairfield Bay, AR 72543.
