George Dennis
Longtime Resident
of County Dies

Funeral services were held December 24, at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage for George Dennis, 79, well-known retired Mitchell county farmer. Mr. Dennis died Dec. 22, at the Good Samaritan home in Mason City, where he had been confined for 14 months. He had been in failing health since 1960.

The Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer, pastor of the Methodist church in St. Ansgar, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.

George Dennis was born Dec. 16, 1884, in Will county, Illinois, the son of Frank and Martha Jane Patterson Dennis. He was married on January 22, 1908, to Katherine Johnson in Illinois. They came to Mitchell county in 1914, and farmed until 1950.

Mr. Dennis was a member of the St. Ansgar Methodist church, and since October, 1907, was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Katherine, his parents, and one brother, Percy.

Survivors are his sons, Charles of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Edward of Osage, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
