OBITUARY: Gary R. Smith, 1942-1996
OSAGE, IOWA - Gary R. Smith, 54, of 826 Ash St., died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1996, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating.
Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, rural Maxwell, with military rites by the Maxwell American Legion Post.
The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
Gary R. Smith was born May 28, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Osage; three sons, Tim Smith, Cedar Rapids; Matt Smith, Osage, and Shawn Smith of St. Charles, Mo.; his mother, Naomi (Smith) Kerr of Newton; one sister, Mary Lynn Saldona of Ames; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, one infant sister and one infant brother.
