Charles City--Funeral services will be at 9am Saturday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic church for Peter Meyer 85 of 600 Freeman street, who died at his home here Thursday morning; an invalid for several years, he had been confined to his bed since May. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery at Meyer.
Peter was born in St. Anna, Wisconsin February 29, 1864, son of John and Christina Wilhelm Meyer. On November 19, 1891 he married Adelheid Wolf and the couple farmed near Meyer, until they came to Charles City in 1941.
He leaves three sons, Edward Meyer Wausau, Wisc; William Meyer Stratford Wisc. and Joseph Meyer Charles City; six daughters, Mrs. Paul Mayer, Riceville; Mrs. Arthur Mayer, Stacyville; Mrs. Kenneth Jung, Mrs Percy Dugan, Mrs Charlie Dugan and Margaret Meyer, all of Charles City; 45 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His wife died in October 1945 and three children, Raymond, Christine and Sylvester also preceeded him in death. One grandson Loren Mayer
