Former Osage Man Dies of Collision Injuries

OSAGE, IOWA - Albert B. Carter, 65, former Osage resident, died on March 25, 1944 at a Eureka, California hospital, having entered as a patient two days prior as a result of an automobile accident. The accident occurred on the Redwood Highway when another car, on the wrong side of the road crashed into the Carter car, with a resulting broken back for Mr. Carter and a broken neck for Mrs. Carter. Mrs. Carter is recovering nicely.

Mr. Carter spent his boyhood in Cedar Township, then moved to Park Rapids, Minnesota. He returned as a young man to the Osage community, and when his parents left of Canada, resided with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Carter of Osage.

He married Mayme Pope, Waucoma, and they established their home in Osage, continuing the photography business with his brother, Will.

Surviving are his wife and four children.
