Mrs. Burnham Rites to Be Held Tuesday
OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Burnham, 35, will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church in Osage. Mrs Burnham, mother of three small children, died of bulbar polio Friday evening at the University Hospitals, Iowa City.

OSAGE, IOWA — Mrs. Robert Burnham, 35, died at 8 p.m. Friday at the University Hospitals, Iowa City, a victim of bulbar polio. She was Mitchell County's first polio fatality. Her husband is co-owner of the Daylight Store at Osage.
The body is at the Champion Funeral Home at Osage where rites were pending Saturday.
Mrs. Burnham was born at Milford April 18, 1917, daughter of the late Ollie C. Holcomb and Blanche Holcomb. Her parents moved to Havre, N. D., then to Lake City, Minnesota. She attended Hamline University, St. Paul, and prior to her marriage in 1940 she was a bookkeeper.
When her husband was called into the military service she came to the parental home at Osage where she since resided.
Survivors include her husband, her mother, sons Robert and Charles, daughter Elaine, a brother, Sam Holcomb, all of Osage, a sister, Mrs. Lloyd Scholer, of Minneapolis, and a grandmother, Mrs. Sam Holcomb, of Milford.
She was a member of the W.S.C.S. of the Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxillary.
