Funeral services for Lauritz P. Hansen, 81, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center April 8, 1973, were held April 13 at First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.
Lauritz Peter Hansen was born September 10, 1891 in Soro, Denmark, the son of Hans Peter and Karen (Johansen) Hansen. He came to the United States in 1911 and lived most of his years in the St. Ansgar area, except for the 12 years he lived in Carpenter.
Mr. Hansen was married in 1934 to Grace Colbertson Nightingale, who preceded him in death in 1960.
Surviving are two children from their marriage, and two children from Mrs. Hansen's previous marriage; Master Sergeant Allen Hansen of Leavenworth, Kan.; David Lawrence Hansen of Des Moines; Mrs. Harry W. (Joyce) Jones of Lancaster, N.Y.; Laverne N. Nightingale of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren; also two brothers, Thorvald Hansen of St. Ansgar, and Christian Hansen of Cotati, Calif.; two sisters, Oline Olsen of Soro, Denmark, and Christine Ringsted of Odense, Denmark.
Mr. Hansen was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. He was a member of First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar.
Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of the committal services.
