Funeral services for Harold E. Hahn, 73, of Osage, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital October 19, 1974, were held October 22 at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Osage with the Rev. Robert Floy officiating.

Harold Emerson Hahn was born December 10, 1900 in Battle Creek, the son of Eldon and Mabel (Beane) Hahn. He was graduated from Westmar College in LeMars with a BA degree in 1923, MA degree from the University of Iowa in 1928 and completed advance graduate work at that university. He devoted 25 years to the field of education in Iowa. He married Ada Tollefson in St. Ansgar August 1, 1935. Later when they moved to Osage, he was in the insurance business for 15 years, and upon his retirement, he was Civil Defense director for Mitchell county for three years.

He is survived by his wife, Ada, and one son, Harlan, professor of political science at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Mr. Hahn was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Floy in charge of committal services.
