Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 16, 1988 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, for Edna M. Petersen, 82, of St. Ansgar. The Rev. T. Hughes officiated and burial was in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
She died saturday, February 13, 1988 at the St. Ansgar nursing home.
She was born October 28, 1905 in Clear Lake, Iowa, to Nels and Georgine Thygesen.
Survivors include four daughters: Elaine Lindeman of Charles City, Darlene Jenkins of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Jane Petersen of Mason City, and Carol McMasters of Des Moines; a son, Robert of Lakeview, Oregon; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Irving Hansen of Jesup.

Funeral Services Held
At First Lutheran Church
February 16Funeral services for Mrs. Albert (Edna Mae) Peterson, 82, of St. Ansgar, who died Saturday, February 13, (1988) at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held Tuesday, February 16 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Reverend Thomas Hughes officiating.
Mrs. Peterson was born in Clear Lake October 28, 1905, the daughter of Nels and Georgine Thygesen. Upon the death of her parents at the age of two, she was adopted by C.L. and Emma Hansen of Clear Lake. The family moved to Brooten, Minnesota where she was graduated from high school and following returned to Clear Lake.
She married Albert E. Peterson in Clear Lake October 2, 1926. They resided in Ventura and Carpenter before moving to St. Ansgar in 1939. Mr. Peterson died in 1976.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was an active member of First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also an active member of American Lutheran Church Women and Esther Circle.
Survivors include one son, Robert of Lakeview, Oregon, four daughters, Elaine Lindaman of Charles City; Darlene Jenkins of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; Jane Peterson of Mason City; and Mrs. Gary (Carol) McMaster of Des Moines; one brother, Irving Hansen of Jesup; nine granchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers.
Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery.
