Gene Dorsey, 1924-1996
OSAGE, IOWA - Gene Dorsey, 71, of Osage, died Monday, July 22, 1996, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Barrick officiating. Following the funeral service the body will be cremated with inurnment at the Osage Cemetery at a later date, with military rites by Osage American Legion Post 278.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at the Champion Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.
Gene Dorsey was born on August 22, 1924, in Osage, the son of William and Lila (Dodge) Dorsey.
Survivors include his wife, C. Lavon Dorsey of Osage; one daughter, Rebecca Schoonover of Des Moines; two sons, Patrick Dorsey and Michael Dorsey, both of Osage; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Marjorie W. Elling of Garner, and Dorothy Rogers of Tucson, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
