Memorial services for Mrs. Merna B. Hansen, 70, formerly of St. Ansgar, who died in Corpus Christi, Tex. January 16, 1985, were held at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home here January 26, with the Rev. Thomas Hughes, pastor of First Lutheran church, officiating.
Merna Babcock Hansen was born February 13, 1914 in David, the daughter of Hugh and Edith Babcock. She was graduated from Little Cedar high school, and later attended a beauty college in Mason City. She operated a beauty shop in Little Cedar and later in St. Ansgar.
She was united in marriage to Alfred L. Hansen. They lived in St. Ansgar following their marriage and until a few years ago when she moved to Rockport, Tex. Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; her parents; three sisters, Lovella and Matilda Babcock and Mrs. Blanche Potter; one brother, Vinton; a step-son, Warren Hansen.
She is survived by one niece, Mrs. Edith Hanna of Phoenix, Ariz.; two nephews, Melvin Potter of Torrance, Calif.; one step daughter, Mrs. Muriel Cassasa of Noblesville, Ind. and by Tom Shaw.
Burial will be in the St. Ansgar cemetery.

Hansen, 70, who died Wednesday, January 16, 1985, at a Corpus Christi, Texas, hospital, were held on Saturday, January 26 at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar. Rev. Thomas Hughes officiated with burial in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
She was born on February 13, 1914 in David, Mitchell county, Iowa, the daughter of Hugh and Edith Babcock. She graduated from Little Cedar High School and later attended a beauty college in Mason City.
She operated a beauty shop in Little Cedar and later in St. Ansgar. She was united in marriage to Alfred L. Hansen.
She lived in St. Ansgar until she moved a few years ago to Rockport, Texas.
Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Edith Hanna of Phoenix, Arizona, nephews, Melvin Potter of Peroria, Arizona, and Alvin Potter of Torrance, California; a step-daughter, Mrs. Murial Cassasa of Noblesville and by Tom Shaw.
