Harold George Bauer 1918-2003

Funeral services for Harold Bauer, 85, of Riceville were held Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, Iowa. The Reverend Michael Parris officiated. Burial was in Wayne Cemetery in rural McIntire, Iowa. Military honors were conducted by Roy Gue Post of Riceville.

Harold died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Harold Bauer son of Carl and Orpha Philamalee Bauer was born January 4, 1918 in Loretta, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Clarice DeMaris on June 25, 1942 in Mason City, Iowa He served in the Army during World War II and was a retired farmer. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, especially his tomato plants.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Harvey, two sisters Alice and Lucille and one great-grandson Devan Winfield.

His survivors include his wife, Clarice Bauer of Riceville; two sons Kenny Bauer and his wife Velma of LeRoy, Minnesota and John Bauer and his wife Robin of Riceville, Iowa; two daughters Jeanie and her husband Lee Foster of Riceville and Linda and her husband Leu Winfield of LeRoy, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and his mother-in-law Agnes DeMaris of Riceville, Iowa.

The Lindstrom Funeral Home, phone 641-985-2711, Riceville, Iowa was in charge of funeral arrangements.
