Annette Whitney
Died in Colorado;
Old Resident HereAnnette Whitney died at Greeley, Colo., last week according to word received here Monday by relatives. Miss Whitney, who was 71 years of age, had spent the greater part of her life in Osage, and was well and favorably known.
Born in Chicago, she came to Osage with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pascal Whitney when she was a small girl. She rceived her education in the local schools and for many years taught music as did her sister, Perna, who died in March 1936. Failing in health, Miss Annetter cared for the home and her sister continued teaching.
She failed rapidly following her sister's death and a year ago her brother, Dr. F. L. Whitney, dean of State Teachers college, Greeley, Colorado, took her to that place with him, where she has been cared for since. She became very ill a week ago Monday and was taken to a Greeley hospital, where she passed away a few days later.
Funeral services were held in Greeley, December 24, and her body was taken to Denver, Colo., for cremation. The ashes will brought to Osage for burial at some future date.
