Fred Feldt, age 81, of Osage
Died Tuesday, January 19, 1965.OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral services for Fred W. Feldt, a lifelong resident of Mitchell County, were held on January 23, 1965, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Mr. Feldt died January 19, at his home.
He was in failing health since last fall, and was known to have a malignancy. Mr. Feldt had undergone surgery on December 3rd.
The Rev. Obert Hoven and the Rev. R. M. Christensen, associate pastors of the Our Saviors Lutheran church, were in charge of the services. C. R. Champion and Sons were in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Fred W. Feldt was born on December 11, 1883, in Newburg township, Mitchell County, one of 10 children of August and Ernestine Stelter Feldt. The family moved to Rock Township while he was still in his youth. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church in Rock township.
He was united in marriage Oct. 19, 1907, to Emma Ellingson. They established their home on the Feldt family farm in Rock township, moved to a farm near Otranto in 1913 and in 1919 located on the Ellingson family farm south of St. Ansgar. Twenty-five years ago the Feldt family moved to Osage to their present home.
Surviving are his wife, Emma; three children, Mrs. Harold Halvorson, Frances, of rural Osage; Raymond Feldt of Clam Falls, Wis; and Mrs. Elsain Mueller of Osage.
He also leaves seven grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. E. F. French of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. William May of Mason City, and Annette Feldt of Los Angeles.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four sisters, and two brothers.
