P.T. Golberg was born in Gael Parish, Hallingdal, Norway, September 17, 1847 and died May 27, 1895, at St. Ansgar. He left his native land in 1866 and came to Winnesheik Co., Iowa, where he remained until the spring of 1868 when he came to St. Ansgar, Mitchell County, Iowa, which has since been his home. In the fall of 1867 he was married to Miss Thea Nelson but the union was of short duration as she died in the fall of 1870.

In 1883 he was again married to Miss Inger O. Hefte. Their wedded life was blessed with five children, the oldest of which is ten years of age and the youngest two years, who now together with their mother remain to mourn the loss of a faithful husband and kind father. When he came here he was a young man with no means and during the twenty seven years which he lived here he managed, by strict attention to business to accumulate a competency.

He enjoyed a wide acquaintance having been engaged in various business enteprises the most of the time since he came here. The funeral was held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church May thirtieth, Rev. J. Olsen officiating and his remains were laid to rest in the Norwegian cemetery.

Item #2:

DEATH OF P.T. GOLBERG

Last week it was announced that P.T. Golberg was very sick. Monday at 11 P.m. he passed away. He had not been well for nearly a month, having contracted a cold by going into the cellar during a severe storm the first of May, but it was only for the last two weeks that his condition had been at all serious. Pneumonia and Rheumatic fever had too firm a hold of him for medical skill to arrest. The funeral is today at ten o'clock.
