MRS. CORA JANE ERBE
Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Jane Erbe, 80, former Waterloo resident, were conducted Wednesday in Los Angeles, California where she died Monday of complications incident to advanced age. She had been in failing health for several months.
The body is to be returned here for final services and will be taken to O'Keef & Towne funeral Home. Arrangements for the services here are incomplete. Burial will be in the family plot at Osage, Iowa.
Born May 1, 1967 at Miffinburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James and Mary Bell. As a child she moved with her family to Osage, Iowa.
She was married to August B. Erbe on September 25, 1884. The couple resided first at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, later farming several years in Mitchell County, Iowa before settling in Osage.
They came to Waterloo in 1902 and she resided here until three years ago when she left to make Los Angeles her home. Mr. Erbe died here December 10, 1939.
Survivors include a son, Bart B. Berkeley, California; three daughters, Miss Marie Erbe, Walnut Court apartments, and Mrs. Mildren Bean and Mrs. Leah Merrill, both of Los Angeles; a brother, Charles, Oak Park, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Reinke, St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
