Cecilia E. Von Tersch

OSAGE — Cecilia Eileen Von Tersch, 80, died Thursday (Dec. 17, 1998) at Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage; there will be a rosary at 3 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 7 p.m.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

Cecilia was born July 12, 1918, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Hugh and Johanna (Carroll) Smith. She attended Omaha schools and graduated from Omaha North High School in 1936.

Cecilia married Bill Von Tersch Nov. 16, 1938, in Omaha. They made their home in Omaha until 1946 when they moved to Osage.

She is survived by two sons, Tom Von Tersch and his wife, Marilyn, of Osage, and Tim Von Tersch and his wife, Annette, of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Sheila Moksnes and her husband, Duane, of Minnetonka, Minn., Peg Bowe of Mason City, and Joan Kleckner and her husband, Bruce, of Fresno, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, Ed and Denise Von Tersch, Tony and Andy Moksnes, Kate and Zach Von Tersch, Chris Bowe, Bill Veren and Mary Francis Bolander, and John and Johanna Kleckner; two great-grandchildren, Judson Veren and Kelsey Bolander; and three sisters, Margaret Smith of Mason City, Mary Alexander of Osage, and Phyllis Murtaugh of Las Vegas.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill in 1973; one daughter, Kathy; three grandchildren, Michele Von Tersch, Marty Von Tersch, and Jummy Kleckner; and one sister, Ann Dieteman.
