Mr. Olaus O. Grovo, whose serious illness was reported last week, died on February 27, 1929.
Olaus O. Grovo, eldest son of Ole and Regnald Grovo, was born on the Grovo homestead, four and one-half miles north of St. Ansgar, on July 21, 1858, and died at his home in St. Ansgar at 3:10 on Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 1929.
He was baptized when but an infant, being one of the first ones who were baptized in the church. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the First Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Clausen, in which he remained steadfast and faithful member.
In 1893 he was united in marriage with Miss Randena Springer. To this union three children were born, Rose, Hazel and Roy. Hazel and Roy and their mother preceded him in death a number of years ago.
He was a loving husband and father, deeply concerned in the interest and welfare of his family.
He was married to Miss Sarah Olson, in the fall of 1902, who lives to mourn his loss.
Being in poor health, he retired from farming and moved to St. Ansgar, in the spring of 1920, which remained his home until the time of his death.
All through his long illness he was a patient and silent sufferer.
Besides his sorrowing widow, he leaves to mourn his loss, one daughter, Rose, two brothers, Andrew of St. Ansgar, and Edward of Mona, two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Olson of Goodridge, Minn., and Mrs. Mary Olson, other relatives and host of friends.
The funeral was held at the First Lutheran church Saturday afternoon. Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiating.
The following were here from away to attend the funeral; A.O. Benson of Blooming Prairie, Mrs. H.O. Lysne and Miss Mary Asleson of Blooming Prairie, Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Johnson and Oscar Brenna of Charles City.
