Gertrude ‘Gert’ Williams
OSAGE — Gertrude Ann Williams, 89, of Rochester, and formerly of Osage, died Monday (April 5, 2010) at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home in Rochester, Minn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:45 p.m.

Gertrude "Gert" Williams

(Died April 5, 2010)

Gertrude Ann Williams, age 89, of Rochester, and formerly of Osage, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home in Rochester, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:45 p.m.

Gert was born June 14, 1920, in Waterville, Iowa, the daughter of John and Margaret (Moore) McGeough. On August 8, 1944, she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” E. Williams. They moved to Osage in 1945. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and in the past assisted with answering the parish phones. Gert was a long time member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Study Club. She was also a member of the Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary. Gert cherished her family, her grandkids, and her friends. She enjoyed dancing and writing poetry.

Gert is survived by her daughter, Jane (Roy) Miller of Osage, and their children, Mindy (Jim) Henderson, Mike (Dawn) Miller, and Marty (Angie) Miller; her daughter, Megg (Craig) Ganrude of Rochester, Minnesota, and their children, Nicole Ganrude, and Makenzee Ganrude; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard “Dick” Williams in 2002; three sisters; and one brother.
