GEORGE E. SKUSTER
OSAGE, IOWA - George E. Skuster, 82, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Faith Home in Osage, following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home in Osage, with the Rev. Robert Melhorn officiating. Cremation will follow the service with a private inurnment at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage.
George was born May 8, 1918, on the family farm in Mitchell Township in Mitchell County, the son of Rasmus and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Warrington) Skuster. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1936.
George was united in marriage to Bertha Hungerford on July 31, 1937. They farmed north of Mitchell until 1941 and then moved and farmed east of Mitchell until 1994, when his failing health forced him to retire.
George is survived by his wife, Bertha Skuster, of Osage; two daughters, Liz Dickson and her husband, James, of Oakland, Calif., and their sons, Jeff and J. D. and Lynne Neuhaus and her husband, Tom, of Cedar Rapids; one son, Marc Skuster and his wife, Jane, of Victorville, Calif.. and their daughter, Sarah; and a brother, Gordon Skuster and his wife, Gloria, of Charles City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Galen "Doc" Skuster; and two sisters, Gladys Skuster and Glenda Steinhilber.
