NEW HAVEN, IOWA - Dale W. Fox, 70, of New Haven, Mitchell county, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven, with private burial services at a later date.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. There will be a Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Forester Rosary at 5 p.m. today at the Conway Funeral Home, followed by a scripture service at 7 p.m.
Dale was born on July 1, 1929, on the farm southeast of New Haven, the son of Henry and Eva (Dynes) Fox. He attended the rural school and graduated from Osage High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Marian; five sons, Christian, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Bruce, of Owatonna, Minnesota, Neal, of Fresno, Calif., Frank, of Mason City, and Travis, of Osage; four daughters, Cheryl Jahnel, of Orchard, Sheila Kobliska, of Alta Vista, Trudy O'Donnell, of Elma, and Sue Hermanson, of Decorah; six stepchildren, Dean Thein, Randy Thein and Tony Thein, of Fredericksburg, Cindy Sharp and Connie Thein, both of Urbandale and April Wheling, of Sumner; 18 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; four brothers, Victor and Curt, both of Osage, Larry, of Riceville and Jerry, of Elma; one sister, Doris Kulage, of Bridgeton, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Brian Jahnel.

NEW HAVEN - Dale William Fox was born on a farm southeast of New Haven on July 1, 1929, the son of Henry V. and Eva (Dynes) Fox. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven, where he was a life-long member. Dale attended the rural school and graduated from the Osage High School.
Following graduation, he helped his father with farming. He enlisted in the U. S. Army on Aug. 31, 1951, serving a tour of duty in Korea. Dale received the Nations Service Medal. He was discharged in Aug. 30, 1954, and returned home to farm. He also spent many years as a seed corn dealer.
In October of 1953, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Miller and they set up farming southeast of New Haven. They became the parents of nine children. He was later married to Marian Leff on their Mitchell County farm on June 26, 1998.
Dale was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Knights of Columbus, the Iowa Trappers Association, the National Trappers Association, Pheasants Forever, the Fur Takers of America, the Farm Bureau and the Riceville Country Club. He was an outdoorsman who liked hunting, fishing and trapping. He enjoyed playing bridge and attending swap meets. Most of all, Dale was very fond of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending his time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, his nine children and spouses, Christian and Lori Fox of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Cheryl and Mark Jahnel of Orchard, Sheila and Steve Kobliska of Alta Vista, Bruce and Cathy Fox of Owatonna, Minn., Neal and May Fox of Fresno, Calif., Trudy and Mike O'Donnell of Elma, Sue and Rich Hermanson of Decorah, Frank and Julie Fox of Mason City, and Travis Fox of Osage; six stepchildren and their spouses, Dean Thein of Fredericksburg, Cindy and Jeff Sharp of Urbandale, April and Randy Wehling of Sumner, Randy and Laurie Thein of Fredericksburg, Connie Thein of Urbandale, and Tony and Lisa Thein of Fredericksburg; 18 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; four brothers, Victor and Curt of Osage, Larry of Riceville and Jerry of Elma; and one sister, Doris Kulage, of Bridgeton, Missouri.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Brian Jahnel.
