CAR BREAKS TWO FENCES, CABLE
Fails to Make Turn;
Metz, Occupant of Car, Is Bruised.RICEVILLE, IOWA — Frank Teeple, stockbuyer who lived north of Riceville, was killed at 2:20 o'clock Tuesday morning when the car he was driving failed to make a turn east of Taopi village in Minnesota, broke a cable, two fences, went over a ditch, and stopped about 150 feet from the highway.
Sam Metz of Riceville, who was with Teeple, was bruised in the accident and knocked unconscious.
About an hour after the crash, he regained consciousness but could not find Teeple. He went to Taopi and got persons to help him in finding the body, which had been thrown about 50 feet from the car.
The accident occurred about 25 miles southeast of Austin on Highway 56 a mile east of Taopi at what is known as cemetery corner, because of a cemetery nearby. The car was traveling east.
Metz said he warned Teeple, who was driving about 70 miles an hour, to watch out for a turn. Teeple, who lived in the Riceville vicinity many years, was about 55 years of age.

AUTO CRASH TAKES
LIFE OF MCINTIRE
MAN, FRANK TEEPLEThe death of Frank Teeple, a farmer and stock buyer of near McIntire, Iowa, makes a total of five deaths by accidents in this county in about a week. Mr. Teeple was killed instantly at 2:20 Tuesday morning when the car he was driving failed to make a turn east of Taopi, Minnesota; crashed through a cable, two fences, went over into a ditch and stopped about 150 feet from the highway.
Sam Metz, of near Riceville, who was with Teeple, was bruised in the accident and knocked unconscious. About an hour after the crash he regained consciousness, and was able to pick himself up, and started looking for his companion. Not finding him, he made his way to Taopi and got persons to the scene of the wreck. They found the body about fifty feet from the car, which was a total wreck.
The accident occurred about 25 miles southeast of Austin, on highway 56, a mile east of Taopi, at what is known as the cemetery corner, because of a cemetery nearby. The car was travelling east.
Metz says that he warned Teeple, who was driving about 70 miles an hour, to watch out for a turn. Evidently the car was going at too great a speed to make the short turn.
Mr. Teeple, who was about 55 years of age, is well known in the Riceville-McIntire community, as he has operated an extensive farm where he raised a large amount of stock, and had bought and sold stock for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
