Rites Held at Osage for Mrs. J. A. Bartell, 58
OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services were held at the Shelledy funeral home Wednesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. J. D. Kern of the Baptist church and the Rev. Frank Court of the Methodist church for Mrs. J. A. Bartell, 58, who died at her home on north Tenth street early Monday after an illness of several months.
Mabel Edna Linderman was born on a farm near Waterloo, Wisconsin, July 30, 1877. She spent her young girlhood there and attended high school in Marshall, Wisconsin. She came to Mitchell county in 1894 with her parents who settled on a farm five miles west of Osage. Here Mrs. Bastell attended Cedar Valley seminary. June 17, 1897, she was married to J. A. Bartell, a local stenographer.
Surviving are her husband and their only child, Prescott; two grandchildren, Burke and Robert Bartell; and her sister, Mrs. Burt Bush of Osage.
Burial will be made in the local cemetery.

SEVERAL MONTHSMrs. J.A. Bartell, age 58, died at her home on north 10th Street,Osage, early Monday morning, June 1, 1936, after an illness of several months duration.
Mable Edna Linderman was born on a farm near Waterloo, Wisconsin, July 30, 1877. She spent her young girlhood there and attended high school at Marshall, Wis.
Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Linderman, herself and a younger sister, now Mrs. Burt E. Bush, came to Mitchell county in 1894, living on a farm Mr. Linderman purchased five miles west of Osage. She attended Cedar Valley Seminary.
She was married to J.A. Bartell, a local stenographer, on June 17, 1897, the late Rev. S. Wilcox performing the ceremony.
Surviving is her husband and their only child, Prescott; two grandchildren, Burke and Robert Bartell; and her sister, Mrs. Burt Bush, all of Osage.
A friendly and hospitable nature and a keen interest in nature study were characteristic of her personality.
Funeral services were held at the Shelledy Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 1936, conducted by the Rev. J. Kern, and the Rev. F. Court. Burial was made in the Osage cemetery.
