Arthur L. Severson rites set

(MASON CITY, IOWA) -- Arthur L. Severson, 50, died Saturday at a Mason City hospital He had lived in Mason City 28 years and for the last 13 1/2 years was employed by the Interstate Power Company. He made is home at 671 3rd NE.

Mr. Severson was born September 19, 1912, at Pueblo, Colorado, son of Sever and Christiana (Anderson) Severson. At the age of two he moved with his family to Carpenter and about a year later to St. Ansgar, where he was graduated from high school in 1929.

He came to Mason City in 1935 and attended Hamilton College. He was married to Gladys McKee May 29, 1937, in Mason City.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Terry Severson, Mason City and a sister, Mrs. Allen Burtis, Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Severson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Masonic Lodge.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Reverend Lavern R. Hanson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge.
