MRS. HENRY CHANCE
LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA - Services for Mrs. Henry Chance, 53, a St. Ansgar Kindergarten teacher**, who died Friday night at Mitchell County Hospital in Osage of cancer, were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Little Cedar United Methodist Church. Burial in an Alden Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert of Moline, Illinois; a granddaughter, four sisters, Mrs. Dean Layton of Des Moines, Mrs. Del Schuller and Mrs. Ernest Warshkow, both of Iowa Falls, and Mrs. Florence Fuller of Alden.
The Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marion Maybelle Chance was born on June 25, 1918 at Sibley, Iowa the daughter of Emil and Ella Jacobs Dass. She attended schools at Alden, Iowa, Ellsworth Junior College at Iowa Falls, and also Drake University at Des Moines where she received her B.A. Degree in 1970. Mrs. Chance was a teacher in the St. Ansgar Community School until becoming ill last November.
She was united in marriage to Henry C. Chance on February 22, 1941 at Albany, Missouri. To this union was born a son, Robert D. Chance and a daughter, Barbara Jean.
Mr. and Mrs. Chance formerly resided in Story County, Iowa prior to moving to Little Cedar in 1956.
Mrs. Chance passed away at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage on Friday evening, May 12.
Survivors include her husband, Henry; a son, Robert D. Chance of Colona, Illinois, and a daughter, Barbara Jean at home; a granddaughter, Pamela Jo Chance. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. William Layton, Des Moines, Mrs. Florence Fuller, Alden; Mrs. Velma Scheuller and Mrs. Ernest Warschkow of Iowa Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, and an infant grandson.
