OSAGE, IOWA - Dale V. Holm, 60, of Osage, and formerly of Charles City, died Monday (March 22, 2010) at his home, of natural causes.
Funeral services for Dale Holm will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City with Pastor Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens at a later date. There will be a flag presentation by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main, Charles City. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
Dale Victor Holm was born March 5, 1950, at Osage, the son of Victor and Lorraine (Zimmerman) Holm. He attended the Charles City High School and later received his GED. Dale proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
On July 31, 1971, he was united in marriage to Vickie Debban at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Dale worked at various places including White Farm Equipment Co. and Happy Pork which is owned by Karl Theis. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
His interests included fishing, golfing, woodworking, gardening, feeding squirrels and watching high school and college wrestling. Family was very important to Dale and he always took special interest in what family members were involved in. He also looked forward to visiting with his friends.
Living family members include his wife, Vickie Holm of Osage; four children: Scott (Kim) Holm of Osage, Adam (Carla) Holm of Parkersburg, Travis (Heather) Holm of Osage currently living in Greene, and Becky Holm and partner Paula Meynig of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren: Dustin and Daniel Holm, Adam Stuart and Cierra Holm, Michelle, William and Tyler Aukes and Tyler, Emma and Anna Holm; four brothers: Al (Karen) Holm of Swaledale, Bob (Barb) Holm of Orchard, Rick Holm of Charles City and Don (Shirley) Holm of Charles City; and three sisters: Jackie (Al) Jacobs of Ellendale, Minn., Judy (Roger) Grimm of Elma and Diane (Tim) Francis of Mason City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gloria Crumpton and husband Jim; a niece, Kim Grimm; and a nephew, Brian Crumpton.
