OBITUARY: Peter Christian Marcusson, 1885-1978
Funeral services for Peter C. Marcusson, 92, who died at his farm home near Toeterville, Iowa, on May 24, were held May 26 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.
Peter Christian Marcusson was born September 10, 1885 on the family farm near Toeterville, the son of Christian and Mary (Hansen) Marcusson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
June 18, 1926 he married Charlotte Johnson, and they established their home on the family famr. Mr. Marcusson was a member of First Lutheran church here, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mina Lay.
Mr. Marcusson is survived by his wife, Charlotte; by one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Gladys) Sampson of Lyle; by three grandchildren, Gerald, Jim and Debra of Lyle; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Martha Custer of Bremerton, Washington.; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.
