RITES HELD FOR MRS. FRANK METER

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Meter, 71, were conducted at 2 p.m. Feb. 19, [1954] in the Methodist church at McIntire by the Rev. J. Howard Machlan, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Thorlakson, pastor of the McIntire Baptist church. Interment was at Ventura. Mrs. Meter died in Mitchell County Memorial hospital, Osage, Feb. 16.

Mrs. Meter was born Lillie Parmelia Pierce, Sept. 30, 1882 at Poygan, Wis., to Myron and Mary Pierce. She attended school at Omro, Wisconsin. She then lived with her sister, Mrs. Will Miller, of Garner and taught school until she and Frank Meter were married, Feb. 22, 1916, at Nevada, Iowa.

They lived on a farm southeast of Garner. Their daughters, Mrs. Donald Baker of Clear Lake and Mrs. Robert Rush of Chicago, and son, Charles of Canby, Ore., were born there. Meters then moved to McIntire, where they lived many years.

Her daughters, son and their father, six grandchildren and a brother, Myron Pierce of Bemidji, Minn., survive.

Her sister, Mrs. Will Miller, and her parents preceded her in death.
