Funeral services for Miss Hilda Finstad, 78, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital Saturday, April 4, 1959 were held Tuesday, April 7 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Don R. Hamilton officiating.
Hilda Otelia Finstad was born September 30, 1881 near St. Ansgar. She was baptized November 11, 1881 by the Rev. Johan Olsen and was confirmed by Rev. Olsen May 27, 1897. She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran church.
She attended public school at the nearby Newburg school. Miss Finstad lived on a farm south of St. Ansgar with her mother until her mother died in April 1946. She then moved to St. Ansgar and has since resided at the Klindt hotel.
Miss Finstad was taken to the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage April 1, and died Saturday morning, April 4 at the age of 77 years, and six months and four days. She is survived by distant relatives.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Hamilton in charge of the committal services.
