Elotia Evelyn Proctor Leddy 1956-1925

TWO MCINTIRE PEOPLE DEAD

George R. Decker and Mrs. Martin Leddy Passed Away

Mr. Decker's Death Was Sudden.

Elotia Evelyn Proctor was born May 19, 1856, the memorial year of the Mitchell County land sale in a log cabin on the site of the home in which she spent her entire life, up to the last month and excepting a few weeks she lived in town that her granddaughter might attend school. She was the only child of Deborah Etwell and Edwin Proctor, a young married couple of Lowell Mass., who came west to take up government land in the newly opened state of Iowa.

Eva Proctor was married to Martin H. Leddy, a Mitchell County boy, July 1, 1874. Their only child, Elizabeth Mabel, was born the next April. She died some years ago, leaving two children Alvin, now in California and Evelyn, who with their father are left to mourn the passing of this loved one, with a multitude of virtues. Perhaps Mrs Leddy's most outstanding characteristic was her intense love of her immediate family. Home and her family always came first with her. Mrs Leddy joined the Methodist church while young and her beautiful voice was always ready to sing the praises of the Christ she loved and trusted.

She sank to rest Sunday morning at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 16 days, thus ending a long and useful life, a life that found its happiness in loving endeavor for her dear ones.
