CONDUCT RITES OF MILBRANDT
AUDITOR OF MITCHELL COUNTY DIES AT OSAGE FOLLOWING ILLNESSOSAGE, IOWA - Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 12:15 o'clock at the home of his brother, Roy Milbrandt near McIntire and at 1 o'clock at the Osage Methodist church in charge of the Rev. H M Grant for George Milbrandt, 46, who died Monday night at the home of his brother. He had been ill since election night. He lost the republican nomination for county auditor to Ross Russell.
Born on a farm near Riceville, June 29, 1895 he moved to Buffalo Center with his parents and attended school there. For ten years he was cashier in a bank here; then he farmed with his brother Roy, and later was assessor for Jackson township.
He was appointed auditor of Mitchell county in November of 1937 to fill a vacancy and has held that position since.
Surviving are his brothers and sisters; Roy and Lawrence of McIntire; Charles of Elmore, Minn.; August, Buffalo Center; Mrs. Fred Sprung of Riceville; Mrs. Leslie Button, Riceville; Mrs. J. J. Brown, Sumner; Mrs. Roy Liebrand, Buffalo Center.
Burial was at Buffalo Center.
